Located in the center of Tropea, it has a breathtaking Sanctuary view!It serves fresh fish and cooked with refinement, the service is excellent and the staff is courteous and kind.Low to medium prices.A place to "taste"

Service and food were perfect.

The food was good and also the staff. The reaturant is located jusy beside the cliffside which gives a great view over the beach and water.

Excellent - I have been a lot all over Italy - this one together with La Taverna dell'Etna in Castelmoro Sicily are my best in Italy

Pricey but worth it.

Amazing food, spetacular view and very nice staff, which speaks English. We went there in our last day in Tropea and I wish it was the first so we could go there once again. It was the best restaurant we found in Tropea. Prices are above average, but the tasty food and great service worthed every penny spent.

We found ourselves in this place this morning for lunch time, from the spectacular view, from the unheard kindness and from the good food that made us feel at home ... congratulations to Mr. Mariano for his restaurant if I could put 10 stars Absurd that has received negative reviews

Wonderful place! Exceptional meals and very warm staff. The view is beautiful, though there's only one small window there. Go for this place and you will be charmed! Totally recommend it!We took the orecchiette with seafood and the Orata (sea brass) with eggplants - very delicious meals

Fantastic food, AND fantastic view!

Beautiful terrace view, and delicious seafood. The pasta with clams was tasty and with plenty of seafood. My swordfish was just the right consistency and full of flavor.

Fantastic food and views, really an excellent combination of flavors, colors and combinations, the recipes are very special, of high level and all tasty, accompanied by excellent wines.The restaurant is modern, clean and well cared for, small in size which favors the quality of the dishes, hospitality and speed of service.It also has a small outdoor space that also enjoys the same breathtaking view.I highly recommend it.* the photo of the barbecue refers to a third of a whole barbecue, because it is shared.

Taken with an appetizer and a first course of the sea, fresh fish of excellent quality, very friendly staff. I recommend booking if you want to eat outside with a sea view.

Lovely location and great food

Very nice restaurant with a magnificent view of the sea.We ate very well. Specialized in fish and shellfish, the products are well cooked. The presentation is summary but no artifice does at least distort the flavors.The gentleman in the service is really very professional.A good address.

Fantastic view at sunset or in the evening. Fresh fish and tasty dishes. Good value for money, considering the location.

We wanted a romantic seafood dinner with a great view of the sunset, so Genius Loci was the perfect spot. We stopped in earlier to make a reservation for the terrace, they were very nice (Antonio took good care of us to find a good table!) and remembered my name when we came back for dinner. Service was excellent throughout, we felt like we were in a high-end restaurant but with reasonable prices. The seafood was all fresh, we loved the pasta dishes especially. It was a wonderful way to end our stay in Tropea.

At the time of the present review, the restaurant is most probably the best of Tropea.Offering a modern review of the local cuisine, capable of delivering the best taste and flavors.The Ravioli al ragù di pesce are simply sublime.Location is attractive, inside and also the little outside that offer a wonderful view on the little church.It’s a must try, and reservation is recommended.

Worth it. You can have a good/great meal for 20-30€ p.p. Though I wouldn't recommend the fried squid/ shrimp/sardines. They're ok, it's just that the rest is better..

Beatiful place, excelent food, amazong view

Only had lunch here so might not be the same as the dinner experience. We had a great appetizer, seafood with Mediterranean flavors. Our two pasta dishes were nothing special tho, the sea urchin linguini wasn't as good as I had hoped.

Superb location viewing the Santa Maria dell Isola and the sea. The food is well prepared and Genius Loci offers a great choice and a good selection of wine. Having dined there, Genius Loci turned our night in a night with a twinkling star in our memorie.

Excellent and a must try when in tropea. Try the seafood pasta and will not be disappointed. Also the view is just amazing!

Loved our two primi. Linguine con Ricci di Mare and Tortelloni con ricotta. Good rosato. Good coffee. Very hospitable. And a super view!

Great seafood and great view of the ocean.

The establishment has been magnificent.The feel of the place was just right for an Italian afternoon / early evening, the people were great and we could even enter with our Cane Corso.We couldn't order much, we were already half way full from another place we had visited 🙁 but the plates we got were very very good. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't spectacular but it was very good. Bang for buck, absolutely no regrets, the service was swift and elegant.We left behind about 80€ (70 in food, 10 in tips) and it was one of the best experiences we had in the southern Italy region.Definitely try to get a table if in the region. Be mindful of the schedule, so not to get surprised and go forth on an empty belly...so you could eat a lot of goodies 😁

Amazing food and breath taking view! absolutely unforgettable experience

Wonderful food! Small and cozy, yet very clean space. We loved the wine, seafood, and especially the ice cream, which the definitely should advertise better! They had 3 kinds of ice cream with chocolate in the center. Definitely try this restaurant!

It was the last day in Tropea where we wanted to eat well again. And it was worth it. The partially bad reviews we can not understand. However, one has to credit that we were almost the last guests in Tropea. The season is, the landlord told us, almost over and the day after tomorrow the most close. I ordered a big salad and fish. The crust on the fish tasted delicious. The tomatoes in the salad I found a bit watery. Otherwise, price performance ratio is right.

This was a disappointment. Food is mediocre at best. Service is good and if you seat outside the view is beautiful.

Lovely spot outside to watch the sunset and enjoy a solid meal. The house made pasta was quite nice, as were the antipasti plates.

Convinced by the reviews we went to dinner, but it was a real disappointment.We ordered pasta with sauce for the girls without cheese but only tomato, in response comes pasta with sauce with small pieces of mozzarella, we remind the owner that he immediately brings in two more pastas as requested.We ordered hot sea food appetizer, good but not hotThen we ordered, orecchiette with crab and pistachio sauce, my wife didn't like me at all, and spaghetti with prawns and citrus fruits, the prawns were fresh, but the antennae of the prawns in pieces inside the dough NO, annoying in the mouth as in morsel there were pieces of antennas of the shrimps, the wine was good, the bill 50 € normal.We will not be going back

This restaurant is focused on fish. I could try the famouse Calabrian swordfish. There was a small issue around the wine (they ran out of the one I have ordered), but they handled it correctly. I recommend this place.
